Meet Our Team
Brien Jones, DVM
Veterinarian
Brien Jones graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 2017 and has spent over seven years working in the veterinary field. His experience spans general practice, urgent care, and emergency medicine, with a recent focus on emergency care. Brien is passionate about the human-animal bond and takes pride in making both pets and their owners feel comfortable during veterinary visits. He enjoys building trust by sitting on the floor with animals and explaining treatments in detail to pet owners. Brien loves many aspects of veterinary medicine, from puppy and kitten visits to senior care, and he has a particular passion for treating wounds and managing chronic pain. He is excited by the continuous advancements in diagnostics and treatments that allow him to keep learning and improving his skills while enhancing the quality of life for pets.
With Altitude Animal Aid, Brien aims to provide accessible veterinary care for pet owners in the Front Range, especially in the mountain communities. His goal is to offer a more convenient option by bringing veterinary services directly to clients’ homes, reducing the need for long trips to town for routine or urgent appointments. Living in Coal Creek Canyon, Brien feels a deep connection to his mountain community and is eager to serve his neighbors.
In his free time, he loves being outdoors, particularly snowboarding, camping, hiking, playing pickleball, and disc golf. A dedicated sports fan and fantasy football player, Brien also enjoys cooking and sharing meals with friends and family—a skill he developed during his previous career as a classically trained chef. Additionally, he is passionate about live music, especially at Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

Ali Ihlenfeld
Co-Owner
Ali Ihlenfeld is a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) licensed in the state of Colorado with over 15 years of experience in the veterinary field. She holds a degree in Communications with a minor in Public Relations, and her career has spanned general practice, emergency medicine, hospital administration, operations, and veterinary consulting. Ali is Fear Free Certified and Recovery ALS and BLS certified, reflecting her commitment to both low-stress patient care and clinical excellence. She has a deep passion for animal behavior, nutrition, senior pet care, and supporting families through quality-of-life decisions — particularly during some of the most difficult moments pet owners face.
With Altitude Animal Aid, Ali's goal is to create veterinary experiences that feel calm, personal, and supportive rather than rushed or clinical. She believes that pets deserve care in the place they feel safest — their home — and she is especially committed to serving senior pets, anxious animals, and mountain families who have historically had limited access to low-stress veterinary care. Her background in hospital management and client communication means she's as focused on the experience of the people in the room as she is on the animals receiving care.
Originally from Wisconsin, Ali moved to Colorado in 2013 and now lives in Coal Creek Canyon with her husband Dr. Brien Jones, their six crazy dogs, and a flock of chickens. Outside of work, she loves snowboarding, hiking, camping, gardening, and fostering rescue pets. She's a passionate live music fan and regularly attends concerts at Red Rocks Amphitheater.
